Limited access for repair works along Canalside
Please be aware that, currently, access to the pub will only be from Russell Street & down the steps from City Road due to repairs carried out by Welsh Water (expected until the end of the year, check with the pub). Diversions will be in place if you are making your way from Canalside (see map for details).
Please do not hesitate to give the pub a call for additional directions, or if you have any questions.

Welcome
This is a proper old city of London boozer, only in Chester. It's a great meeting place over a pub lunch or dinner, ordered from our daily menu, and at different times you'll find half the commercial and professional heart of the city in here.
It's a very social place with a lovely atmosphere where you're pretty much bound to meet someone interesting.
We have been listed in the ‘Top 10 Whisky Pubs' in the Good Pub Guide, several years running.
