Welcome
Mapledurham is a quiet, rural village on the river Thames, hidden away down a steep, narrow lane. The village formed part of the landscape of The Wind in the Willows, and if you visit you can appreciate how extraordinarily well author Kenneth Grahame has captured the essence and feel of the place.
You'll find log fires burning, lots of cosy corners to lock yourself away, and a well stocked bar right at the heart of things.
Our chefs create delicious seasonally inspired menus in the style of modern British cookery, always including hearty pub classics as well as introducing something a little different, or a little lighter for all occasons.
We have a beautiful garden overlooking the local countryside, the perfect spot, we think to while away an afternoon
We look forward to welcoming you,
Sarah and the Packhorse team.

Our menus have a spine of classic British dishes complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world. We upload them to our web site each day so that you may peruse them at your leisure.

Things to do near usToday is national puzzle day so we'd thought we would start the day with a riddle... What is able to go up a chimney when down but unable to go down a chimney when up? If you get the answer why not leave your own riddle in the comments below. We also have a few different puzzles and games at the pub so why not come down and enjoy the fire while playing a game or 2. Have a great day... read more on our page
