Children and minors
Children and minors are warmly welcomed during lunch and early evenings, including our popular family Sunday lunches. To ensure a pleasant dining experience, we ask that children remain well-behaved and seated throughout their visit.
Please note that while we try to accommodate prams, space limitations may affect availability, particularly on event days. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
We provide baby changing facilities and highchairs for parents' convenience. We look forward to welcoming families and ensuring an enjoyable experience for all.
Wheelchair access
There are a few steps to enter the pub and we are arranging a new ramp (we unfortunately do not currently have one). In the meantime our crew will be happy to help with access. We have an accessible toilet. Please let us know if you need assistance.
Parking and public transport
Easy access by car, great public transport from Kew Bridge station and for walkers, we're the perfect place for some respite after enjoying a stroll along the famous riverside path. Just 30 minutes on the train from central London.
By car:
There is plenty of on street parking directly outside the pub alongside Thames in Strand-on-the-Green. It is controlled at certain times of the day so please check signs. If in any doubt, pop into the pub and a team member will happily explain what they mean. You will need the pay by phone parking app and location number 803059.
By train:
Kew Bridge Station is a 4 minute walk with trains to London Waterloo every 30mins. Alternatives within level walking distance are Kew station and Gunnersbury tube station. You can amble along to us in approx. 15 minutes from either, the former will involves crossing the famous Kew Bridge (and you can see the pub from the bridge too). Other stops include: Chiswick; Barnes; Clapham Junction; and Vauxhall.
By Bus:
There are regular services from the 65 / N65 / 110 / 237 and 267 all with stops within a 5 minute walk of us.
Our terrace and first floor balcony
During the long summer months, the Steam Packet comes into its own. With the windows and doors flung open, our ground floor terrace and first floor balcony can be truely appreciated in all their glory on a sunny evening watching the sun dip down over the Thames.
The perfect spot to enjoy a few sundowners with friends or a spot of al fresco dining with a view to die for.
Bookings
We do take bookings, but we try to make sure that there is room for customers who are not able to book in advance, so if you have not made a reservation, it's not the end of the world.
Please make bookings by calling or using our online bookings calendar link at the top of the page. Unfortunately we are not able to take bookings via email or facebook.
We do not book our downstairs terrace seating, but we do book our balcony tables. We just require the lead bookers card details to secure these tables.
